About The Studio

Tucked away in a quiet residential street in Prenzlauer Berg, near Schönhauser Allee, lies our apartment and part of this apartment was turned into Berlin Pilates Studio. The small space means there is only room for individualised private training.

And that’s just how it should be. Because Pilates is not a method which can be learned in large groups with booming music. You need concentration, patience, persistence and personal attention to gradually get to know your body fully and to bring it back into alignment.

We constantly strive to improve and develop our studio. At the moment we offer personalised training on the following special Pilates apparatus: Reformer, Cadillac, High Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and Small Barrel (brand Legacy Pilates Apparatus). Our training is based on the classical method of Joseph Pilates. In the future we aim to expand and complete our apparatus offer.

About Claudia

My (slightly cheeky) motto is “Pilates is made for everyone but not everyone is made for Pilates.” What does that mean?

Joe Pilates developed his holistic movement system, to enable everybody to understand their body and mind better, to strengthen them and bring them into balance, to prevent injuries and illnesses and maybe even to heal them. However, his method is not a “quick fix” but rather a long term process which requires full commitment, trust and persistence.

I myself encountered Pilates for the first time in 2005 as a recipe against my recurring back ache. In the years 2006 and 2009 I was first certified as Pilates mat teacher and later as a Pilates apparatus teacher with the Pilates Foundation in London. After a move to Berlin and a family induced teaching break of 5 years, I opened Berlin Pilates Studio in 2018 where I teach Pilates based on the classical Pilates exercises. I owe my classical Pilates teacher training to Galina Rohleder, a ‘second generation’ teacher who was trained directly by Romana Kryzanowska.

I am fascinated by the authentic, classical Pilates method and continue to educate myself in this regard. Over the last few years I attended many classes and workshops and took part in continued education opportunities with masters of the Pilates world, like Alycea Ungaro and Juan Estrada of Real Pilates NY, Brett Howard, Chris Robinson, Moses Urbano, Marjorie Oron and Galina Rohleder, all of whom were direct students of Joe‘s protégée Romana Kryzanowska.
